Preschool & Kindergarten

Preschool (3 & 4 Year Olds)

Ann Arbor Christian School Eaglets Preschool offers a Christ-centered preschool experience for children ages 3 and 4 years old. The emphasis of our preschool is to learn together, explore God’s creation, and build a foundation for elementary education. This is accomplished through a play-based (social skills development) curriculum of units focusing on a variety of themes throughout the year. Math and literacy skills are incorporated into the everyday activities of the classroom. God’s relationship to each of us —whether adults or children— is an integral focus of the preschool program at Ann Arbor Christian School. Our preschool program is fully licensed with the State of Michigan.

Kindergarten: Half-Day & Full-Day

Both half-day and full-day kindergarten have great appeal for different families, so we offer a hybrid model that provides both options. Our flexible plan provides for families who want to begin half-day but eventually transition to full-day. At the start of every quarter, families will have a chance to make this transition. This also allows the teacher to make the needed adjustments each quarter to welcome friends into the afternoon.

Typical Day

The first half of each day consists of core subjects (math, language arts, and Bible) and critical skills for first grade, along with recess and at least one special (PE, art, music, or world language) to provide balanced breaks from the morning’s core academics. Students who attend half-day will be picked up at 11:45a.m. Students who stay for the afternoon will have lunch and engage in additional curriculum-based activities, such as science, social studies, and further enrichment in math and language arts. The afternoon schedule will will also include additional specials and purposeful play.

After School Options

For students in half-day kindergarten, we offer an optional Aftercare program until 3:15 p.m. Aftercare includes various activities and a rest time, but is not a formal extension of kindergarten. There is also Extended School Program from 3:15-5:30 p.m. Learn more about Extended School Program
