Outstanding Results Is More Than Just Statistics

The words “Outstanding Results” can be captured in so many ways here at AACS.

On some levels, “results” can refer to statistics. As a school, our scores on the Iowa Test of Basic Skills are consistently well above both the national average and the Christian School International (CSI) average. In fact, by school norms on the Iowa Test of Basic Skills, AACS scores in the top 2% of all schools nationally. The National Center for Education Statistics has found that, in general, private school students score higher than public school students in reading and math. (Comparing Private Schools and Public Schools Using Hierarchical Linear Modeling, National Center for Education Statistics, July 2006.) The Iowa Test of Basic Skills given to our students in the first through eighth grades at AACS supports this finding, and our graduates are well-prepared to succeed in area high schools.

AACS has a history of outstanding academic achievement. We attribute this to several key components of our daily school life:

• our thorough focus on God in all areas of study, and a recognition that strong faith and academic excellence complement each other.
